The Collective workshop package offers participants the chance to participate in all of the Elements – Music, Dance and Film components.
Together these elements offer a unique experience that provides youth with the opportunity to explore all mediums and discover new avenues in which they can reach their full potential both as an individual and as part of a team.
Students learn the origins of Hip-Hop, lyrical composition, choreography and many camera and angle techniques. They are very much a part of the planning of the film clips and actively take part in storyboarding the determined project outcome.
Our priority is to assist youth to become empowered leaders of social change. Our programs provide a platform provides effective and inspiring ways for youth to take control of their lives and use multi-media messages as a means of creating positive social change.
Past workshop participants have been involved in making effective anti-drinking and drug campaigns, anti-violence and anti-bullying messages that have been featured on both radio and TV nationally.
Optional – As part of this package we can create an on-site recording studio for the young people to continue making music after the OVP workshops are complete.
OVP staff offer training to a school educator (eg: music teacher) to ensure they continue to use the studio equipment and schools/youth centres can continue to deliver music production workshops.
OVP also provides ongoing mentoring and support to the school, creating a sustainable program, which allows more students to engage in this life changing program.
